How to start with exam prep

You qualify to take the TASC test if you don’t have a high school diploma or similar and if you are not engaged in a school program. When you feel the TASC program is something for you, take a close look at the following guidelines to be successful in getting your own HSE diploma. Locate the TASC test center closest to you, and find out the examination dates. Find out everything about their deadline policy and become well informed about the examination.

Be sure to become perfectly prepared. You can find preparation material at your local bookstores, but there are as well numerous locations near you where free TASC preparation classes are offered. Get well prepared, take the test, and get your HSE diploma. Online TASC or GED testing is not available. If you want to sit for the TASC exam and meet all the requirements, you need to report to an official testing site in order to take the test in person!

GED (TASC) – what is new

Classes

A few years ago, New York proudly introduced the TASC (Test AssessingSecondary Completion) to replace the completely rebuilt and now only in computer-format offered GED (General Education Development) exam. The TASC, just like the GED test, measures readiness for college and/or workforce as directed by the Common Core State Standards (CCSS), a set of standards indicating what students must be taught at what grade level.

Schools That Offer Ged Classes Near Me

Applicants who successfully take the TASC exam receive a diploma that is regarded and accepted equivalent to a high school diploma by employers and admissions offices in colleges and universities. The TASC exam (like the former version of the GED exam) assesses these 5 subject areas: Language Arts: Reading- 75 minutes, Language Arts: Writing- 105 minutes, Mathematics- 105 minutes, Science- 85 minutes, and Social Studies- 75 minutes.

Pathways To Graduation

The GED Plus Program was changed into “Pathways to Graduation” (P2G) and this program is available to 17-21-year-olds. P2G is a great help to students who want to earn their High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma. It prepares them for college readiness and career options and offers them educative and social support. P2G is available at no cost and the program doesn’t have a minimum literacy requirement. So contact one of the sites listed above by email or phone and request some info about if your status allows you to participate in their adult education courses.

Your HSE diploma qualifies you for continuing education at a university or college and most higher education institutions provide financial aid as well to qualifying students, so nothing should be holding you back from pursuing the career you’ve always been dreaming about and submitting an application to your dream school. Visit also job fairs and business recruiting events to learn all about available opportunities.

Free Practice Test

The BestGEDClasses website offers many free TASC Practice Tests as well as a huge number of totally free video lessons. The GED and TASC contents are pretty much comparable so you may very well use this great help at no charge to get all geared up to take the TASC exam confidently. So you can attend one of the programs of a prep site listed in the directory above or combine that with an online course or study online exclusively. Whatever suits you best is fine but keep in mind that online study requires a healthy portion of self-discipline!

Centers

You may also check with the New York State Education Department or your local school board or local state high school to see if you qualify for the TASC program. Upon successful completion, you’ll receive a diploma that is equivalent to a common New York State High School Diploma. Check out also this website’s news pages to learn all about what’s going on regarding HSE (high school equivalency) testing.

Job interview tips

How you dress for your job interview can create a bad or good first impression, so make sure that you do it right. It is strongly suggested to follow a certain type of dress code, you are going into a professional environment, not a party. You should wear a suit that is rather plainly colored, pressed and one that fits you well.

Limit the amount of jewelry that you are wearing, have your nails manicured and have your hair styled in a neat, simple way. You should try and keep any tattoos that you might have covered up and removed any unnatural looking piercings. Don’t forget to be carrying a professional briefcase with about 3 copies of your resume plus any suitable references. Experts suggest that you do a little research into the company that you are applying to, they will expect any candidates to be prepared and know their stuff.

Understand your attributes and even rehearse a little speech in front of the mirror, if you see the need to. Maintain eye contact during your interview and speak clearly, you want to appear confident. Don’t afraid to be a little pushy, make it clear how much you want the job. You might be wondering how you can be sure that these techniques are to be trusted?

You can be guaranteed that they are. Our experts are people who are amazing at what they do and have a great track record in helping people like you get the job they’ve always wanted in New York State.
